What We Do
ARUBA FOODS grows, processes, packages and distributes domestically and exports natural food products to consumers and industrial users. Our farm products include rabbits,plantains, plantain flakes, yam flakes and cassava flakes.
Our processsed food products include: rabbit meat, plantain flour,bean flour, peanut butter (Ose Oji), pure honey, pure coconut oil, crayfish and other healthy food products.
Export products include: palm kernel shells, bitter kola(garcinia kola), cashew nuts,ginger,tumeric,dry chilli pepper,planatain flakes,cassava flakes,yam flakes,crayfish and locust beans.
Our Story
ARUBA FOODS was founded in July 2015 by Richard Onome Obire, a retired banker and management consultant. It started out as a distributor of fast moving consumer goods.
To gain personal direct experience of starting and building an SME in the food processing segment of the Agribusiness space so his experience can be used to:
- inspire and to coach aspiring young entrepreneurs in starting and building their own agribusiness SMEs.
- create jobs for the local community
- support SME enabling advocacy drawing upon his personal experiences in the trenches of small business building.
He started a Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil processing unit in 2018 and in 2019, added Plantain and Bean Flour processing to the product portfolio.
He chose Osogbo in Osun State, South-West, Nigeria as the preferred location for ARUBA FOODS because of the relatively much better electricity supply here plus access to raw materials, optimally priced land and trainable labour.
